Kronach and environment


Kronach - the gateway to the Franconian Forest. The picturesque town is situated on the traditional and romantic streets, like the beer and Castle, the toys, the Porcelain Route and is the birthplace of Lucas Cranach the Elder

With thousands of years of history, its historic old town with a city wall still perfectly preserved Kronach is an ideal starting point for wonderful hiking and biking trips. A tour to historic towers, squares, churches, statues and fountains is a special experience.

The fortress Rosenberg is the branch museum of the Bavarian National Museum, which Frankenwald-, the target Museum, Fire Museum, the Lorenz Kaim rooms and housed the Gottfried-Neukam Art Collection. It also forms the backdrop for the Faust Festival.
